About Me

Paula Klayster

Hi! My name is Paula. I was born in Rio de Janeiro and grew up in Brazil and Germany. I have a degree in Applied Languages and Translation in German and Spanish from Heriot-Watt University, in Edinburgh, Scotland. I also had the opportunity to study at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid as part of a university-led programme. After a few years working as a language teacher and a translator in the UK and Germany, I am now based in Dublin, where I work as a Portuguese teacher at Marino College and as a freelance translator.

I have always been passionate about languages, and I love to pass on that enthusiasm in my lessons. Having learned foreign languages from an early age, I know from experience that studying a new language can be difficult and even frustrating at times, but I also know that, primarily, it should be fun. Imagine being able to make new friends from a country you love and talk to them in their mother tongue, or reading your favourite book in its original version, or understanding all the references and linguistic nuances of a film or series as they were originally intended! All that and much more makes up the beauty and the joy of being multilingual, and I would love to help you achieve that goal.
